In accordance with the Corona protection measures, all other rooms of the University Library will remain closed.

Please do not try to collect the books until you have received a notification for pickup.

The desired books must be ordered in advance by e-mail to ub.support(at)boku.ac.at and can only be picked up on site after receiving the notification by e-mail.

Please pay attention to the important points of the checklist.

Non-borrowable works from the main library as well as from the special libraries can be ordered and used on site by appointment (at pickup times).

The “Entlastungsstempel”, clearance of your library account, can be requested by e-mail to ub.support(at)boku.ac.at. Please send us your latest “Studienblatt”, study sheet, as a PDF file.

Please observe the following regulations:

  • Enter the premises only to pick up ordered media and to pay fees.
  • Please bring and wear a FFP2-mask.
  • Please keep a minimum distance of 2 meters.
  • Books should only be returned in urgent cases and exclusively contactless via the book return box in the foyer of Exner-Haus. Alternatively, borrowed works can also be returned by post.
  • Non-borrowable works from the main library as well as from the special libraries can be ordered and used on site by appointment (at pickup times).

Borrowing services in July and August

From 20.07.2020, the following collection times apply to books ordered.

Main Library (for books from the Main Library and the special libraries LAP, SOWIRE, WNT):
Monday 12:00 to 16:00
Wednesday 09:00 to 16:00
Friday 09:00 to 12:00
Attention: The holdings of FB SOWIRE and FB LAP (construction work) are not accessible in August!
On Wednesday, August 19th, 2020 it will not be possible to collect ordered books from the main library due to relocation work.
Special library BIO: Wednesday: 09:00 to 14:00

You can order books from the main library as well as from the special libraries LAP, SOWIRE, BIO and WNT.

Works that cannot be borrowed from the main library and the FB BIO can be ordered and used on site by appointment (during collection times). A scanning facility is available at the main library.

You can order books from the main library as well as from the special libraries LAP, SOWIRE, BIO and WNT.

Pick up (only after notification) at the main library: Books of the main library as well as those of the special libraries LAP, SOWIRE and WNT on Wednesday from 10:00 to 14:00, from 08.07.2020 Wednesday from 09:00 to 17:00.

Pick up (only after notification) at the special library BIO from 08.07.2020 on Wednesday from 09:00 to 14:00.

As of 08.07.2020, works that cannot be borrowed from the main library and the specialist library for food and biotechnology can be ordered and used on site by appointment (Wednesdays during collection times). A scanning facility is available.

Interlibrary loan operations with the partner libraries will be resumed. Interlibrary loan orders will be processed again.

Limited borrowing services in the main library start with 20.05.2020

A limited borrowing service for BOKU members is now possible at the main library.

The desired books must be ordered in advance by e-mail. Please note the points of the checklist for ordering literature.

Please do not pick up the books until you have received a notification for pickup.

Collection times are limited to Wednesday 10:00 – 14:00 for the time being.
Further start-up of the library services will take place gradually and will be communicated via the website of the UB.

Open Access at ACS

The Main Library offers BOKU scientists the opportunity to publish Open Access in American Chemical Society (ACS) hybrid journals at no additional cost. Open Access fees (Article Processing Charges, APC) are charged centrally at the library. The agreement also includes online reading access to the entire ACS journal collection covering the period 2020-2022.
